Mark Trammell
Mark Trammell is the only person to have been a member of the three most popular quartets of his era, the Kingsmen, the Cathedral Quartet, and Gold City.
He founded the Mark Trammell Trio in 2002 as an evangelistic ministry. The group’s original lineup featured Eric Phillips singing tenor and Joseph Smith singing lead. Phillips is the son of former Kingsmen tenor Ernie Phillips; Joseph Smith had sung lead for the Booth Brothers.
In fall 2005, Joseph Smith left the group, citing a non-life-threatening health condition. After a search of several months, Mark Trammell hired Dustin Sweatman, who at the time was the baritone singer for Ed O’Neal’s Dixie Melody Boys, as Smith’s replacement. Vocal coach Steve Hurst, who had filled in for Smith on vocals and keyboards, joined the group as group pianist at the same time. Over time, Hurst would phase into an infrequent special-guest status with the group.
In 2009, tenor Eric Phillips left and was replaced by Joel Wood. The addition of Pat Barker in 2010 made the group the Mark Trammell Quartet. Eric Phillips returned at the end of 2011.

Cleaning LPs (31)
Alan: Sometimes I like to wash my secular and gospel records with the same bucket of water and let the spirits fight it out.
Daniel J. Mount: OK – fascinating!
Ben Harris: Very Serious
Norm: It gets really confusing as to what water to use when cleaning a gospel album on a secular record label.
Daniel J. Mount: I think that means Norm got it backwards. It’s really the secular albums that need the holy water. Why do the albums that are already saved need it?
