Looking for…
I collect Southern Gospel recordings and other memorabilia. So if you’re looking to get rid of some of the items listed below, drop me an email at editor@southerngospelblog.com.
Generally speaking, the shorter the list for a specific group, the more immediate my interest in completing the set.

I don’t know where you are located but I am in NorthEast Oklahoma in a town named Pawhuska. Our dear church clerk passed away last year and she had a TON of records of old time groups and such. I can’t tell you what or who all is there but I can tell you there are about 150-200 albums most in mint condition. If you are interested you are welcome to have them, or if your not in this area if you know of anyone that would like them, please give them my email address.

Are you wanting just CD or cassette too?
[Reply]
Comment by Daniel J. Mount (July 19, 2009, 7:15 pm)
Cassette’s fine.
CD is ultimate, since even if I find the cassette I’ll eventually purchase a CD if it’s available, but for all of the titles individually listed above I’d do a cassette if that was what I could find.

I will have to check with the owners (my parents) but I recently bought a bunch of vintage Gold City CDs. They have all the cassettes that I am replacing for them. If you would like I could see if they would be willing to part with them… all the tapes that I would be parting with would be only of Mike, Brian, Ivan, and Tim… feel free to e-mail me for more details.

My nephews performed with a group from the late 70’s early 80’s which began as “The Singing Christians”, then took the name “Mercy River Boys.” They had moderate success at that time, and were poised to go full time until “life” intervened and the group disbanded.
Anyone with good copies of the Mercy River Boys? I’m interested. “Breakout” was nominated for a grammy I believe.
