“Last Night” hits #1

Posted in: Radio — Daniel J. Mount @ 10:01 am

Singing News just posted their October Top 80 chart. I was pleased to see that Karen Peck & New River’s “Last Night” hit #1.

The Inspirations have a nice song, “If You Only Knew,” at #3. Legacy Five saw significant chart motion with “I Have Been Changed“; it moved up from #31 to #19. Songs that appear to have peaked include Triumphant Quartet’s “He Rescued Me” (from #20 to #22), and, unfortunately, the Mark Trammell Trio’s “Once Upon a Cross” (from #29 to #38).

Legacy Five: A Little Christmas

No, this isn’t a review. I don’t have any inside track with Legacy Five, and I’ll be purchasing my copy of A Little Christmas when you do (NQC). But I was listening to the sound clips Legacy Five posted, and I couldn’t believe my ears on a couple tracks. This clip of Glenn Dustin singing “Do You Hear What I Hear” has him with a much warmer tone than I’ve ever heard him pull off, and on “Welcome to Our World,” Scott Fowler sounds like a younger Steve Green, a comparison I never thought I would make.

Does Legacy Five perhaps have a new vocal coach? Do they have a new producer on their Christmas project?

Whatever the reason, this project officially has me curious enough to purchase a copy as soon as it comes out.
