Future of U.S. Gospel News still Uncertain

Posted in: News — Daniel J. Mount @ 5:54 am

Paul Boden, editor of the U.S. Gospel News, passed away several weeks ago after a short illness. The future of the publication was and remains uncertain; in an email update mailed by Donna Kaye Rogers, she said that the ownership of the publication has been passed to Boden’s three daughters. Although the October issue of the newspaper has been printed and mailed, this could well be the last issue of the publication, since according to the email USGN employees “no longer have jobs.”

It appears as though some USGN staff and columnists will move to Steve and Christie Bradford’s new publication, Gospel Music News. Gospel Music News was dedicated to Paul Boden’s memory, a move that some thought strange if the publication was to compete with USGN. However, if it is the case that USGN will cease publication, then it is perfectly understandable that its staff and columnists would seek a home elsewhere.
