As several other bloggers noted yesterday, Legacy Five just launched a new blog, at http://legacyfive.wordpress.com/.

So what makes this any different from a newsletter?

It’s easier for the fans to interact with the group and each other.

This “community site” concept is one that Crossroads has been helping several of its artists launch. Legacy Five’s has the potential to become as strong and active a community as the Talley Trio’s site (http://talleytree-o.com/) if they can remain consistent with updates.

Post of the Day: Gold City trio concert review

Billboy, a regular contributor to the SouthernGospelForums.com website, posted a review of a Gold City concert he saw last night. Apparently, they’re singing as a trio right now, skipping the bass solo lines where necessary. His thoughts are an interesting snapshot of a group in the interim between changes.

Mickey Gamble launches blog

Crossroads exec Mickey Gamble has launched a personal (i.e., non-company) Southern Gospel blog, Gospeleer. His first post, on iceboxes and iPods, is a must read.

I speak to this firsthand when I say that sustaining posts of that length and level of complexity on a multi-weekly basis is well-nigh impossible. But if he can mix in-depth commentary like that post with shorter posts on current events, he definitely has what it takes to build his site into one of the best Southern Gospel commentary sites out there.

Diana Brantley launches new SGConcerts.com

Some time back, I purchased the domain www.sgconcerts.com, thinking it would be interesting to set up a site where contributors from across the country could submit concert reviews. I still think it was a great idea, but it was before its time, and the various contributors couldn’t find the time to write entries.

The site had gone for months without an entry when I decided to hand the domain over to its most frequent contributor, Georgia’s Diana Brantley. She’s picked up the ball and run with it. She attends Southern Gospel concerts practically every weekend, and she’s been consistently getting posts up with song lists, commentary, and (what makes her posts fairly unique!) YouTube clips.
