After hearding their sets at NQC on radio, I decided to give it a try and bought it a day or 2 ago. Still, I was a bit hesitant and skeptical: their 1999 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' was the last original studio project from which I loved every song. After that one, Gold City had been changing very slowley, yet evident on each sucessive project, heading towards a direction I didn't really like.
BUT, Moment of Truth has won me back to being a fan of Gold City. No, it's not what I'd consider in my ears a perfect recording: I usually skip over "Don't Get Me Started" and "When Jesus Saves": just too "rock-ish" (for lack of a better word) for my tastes. And there are some technical nit-picks I have against the mix.
Yet overall, it's a very strong project for the new Gold City. I feel that they keep a very good balance between traditional and modern on here. This CD seems to be exactly what they needed to "pick up some steam" and simultanously win back some dissatisfied old fans while making many new ones.

Overall, this CD is a very enjoyable, pleasant suprise. I'd recommend for most anyone to buy it.

I really enjoyed this CD if you ask me Aaron(sp) Mccune is a great replacement for Tim. He does great on my favorite song on the CD "Turn Your Back" that song just tells it like it is and Aaron pulls it off very well.

I overheard one of our local DJs say that it proves that Gold City still has their classic sound with their vocals.

I like Gold City too much, so my personal take on the new cd is sure to be biased!

I have a favorite playlist on my iPod, it consists of two albums. "When God Ran" and "Moment of Truth". My two favorite albums of the year!

I enjoyed this one more than the Revival cd. Little more back to basics for Gold City, and the same tried and true formula works pretty well. Steve is the best tenor the group has had in my opinion. And Bruce is coming along just fine.
