I remember watching this on TV live when I was like 8 or 9. GVB has always been my dad’s favorite group, and their definitely on my top 5 list. I haven’t seen this clip in ages, but every time David Phelps does his thing, I always get chillbumps!!! He’s got to be the best tenor in the world, at least in my book. Wes Hampton is good, but nobody can replace Phelps entirely.

They did stand at the end of the concert, but were pretty much prompted by the host to do it then.

Perhaps it isn’t protocol to give standing ovations at the White House (based on the classical concert tradition).
