Signature Sound announces next DVD taping
Ernie Haase announced* on the Signature Sound message board that the group’s next DVD will be taped at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois on April 30. The project is tentatively entitled Dream On, and the CD and DVD are set to be released this fall. [*Link only works for message board members.]
Based on the stats and and photos posted here, it looks like it’s a pretty impressive venue; it seats 2,000, has an impressively high ceiling, and appears to be set on the lakefront of Lake Michigan. This should provide for some interesting video footage.

Hmm.. this is one CD/DVD that will be high on my wishlist. I had originally heard that this stuff wouldn’t be released till Fall 2009, but I’m glad to hear otherwise.
It will definitely be interesting to see who they get to play piano for them on the album and video. Even more so on the video, because it will establish whether EHSSQ is still as good on stage as they were when Roy Webb was with them. I’m sure many haven’t gotten the opportunity to catch a concert with them since the split happened (I’m in that number, myself), so this video will be very defining.

Aaron, I would assume the band would be made up of the typical band members from the Gaither tour (Kevin Williams and company) as the self titled and Get Away Jordan videos were…meaning Gordon Mote will more than likely be the one on the piano bench.

Nate, I’d agree with that as most likely. Second most likely would be Wayne Haun.

I figured as much. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Wayne Haun filling the piano bench for the guys this summer?
What would be a great surprise (highly unlikely, though), is if Roy Webb returned, even if only to do a couple songs with them on the video.

True, I forgot about Haun doing the summer dates. Last I heard April was in the spring though.

True, but Haun’s already out on the road with them. I think he was staying now (whenever now started) through the end of the summer tour.

I’m very excited about this taping - it should be lots of fun! And yes, Navy Pier is definitely on the lakefront. The Pier is maybe 1/3 to 1/2 mile long, and the Grand Ballroom is at the very tip. It should be a very cool event.
