Josh Garner, Jonathan Sawrie join Blackwood Gospel Quartet

Posted in: Changes — Daniel J. Mount @ 6:36 am

I notice (hat tip, PM) that the group photo on the Blackwood Gospel Quartet’s website has been updated, and that Josh Garner has joined the group as lead and Jonathan Sawrie has joined as pianist. They join current tenor Derrick Boyd, baritone Mark Blackwood, and bass Terry Mullins.

The Blackwood Gospel Quartet has had quite a few top-notch personnel pass through the group within the past two or three years. If they can hold this lineup together, I could easily see this group moving back towards the top in Southern Gospel.

Alright, Josh Garner’s back in a quartet! Hopefully Gene McDonald can make his way back into another one as well.

I agree Daniel they could make an impact and hopefully they can stay together for a while.

Terry has been with the Blackwoods for a while now…but, if he left, wouldn’t it be neat and great for Mark if Gene could fill the spot.
