I’m sure I’m in the minority on this but the extensive hold on the note just doesn’t do anything for me. In my mind I’m saying, “OK get it over with!”

My favorite long hold he did with the Kingsmen was on “A Place Where the Hungry are Fed.” That’s a good song period, but his voice really put it over the top!

Daniel,
I, too, remember when he was with the Kingsmen and pulled those longgggggg holds.
This man has an amazing set of lungs to go with his vocal chords.
When he comes off the end of “how great thou art” into “then sings my soul” he sounds amazingly like James Blackwood. That in itself is a great compliment to anyone!

I think I remember him pulling off those long notes when he was with the Kingsmen. What a voice!
