Twelve Days of Christmas, Day 11: The Fans

Posted in: Other — Daniel J. Mount @ 8:05 am

If I could give any present to Southern Gospel fans, it would be to provide the funding to top groups so they can afford a band.

The Kingdom Heirs are pretty nearly the last holdout among top-level groups in maintaining a three (or more)-piece band. I don’t want to see live music totally disappear, or to see the live band era totally fade from the Southern Gospel genre.

Well the Kingsmen are still retaining a 3-piece band once they find replacements, according to an email from Brandon Reese.

The Mike Bowling Group had announced they were looking to complete their band, Crabb Revival has a band, the Isaacs have a band, Jeff & Sheri Easter have a band (even independent of Gaither), the Freemans have a band, etc.

I agree though, there’s only a very few top male quartets that have a band anymore, with the Kingdom Heirs being the best, IMO.
