Inspirations’ “If You Only Knew” hits #1
Singing News just posted their November 2007 radio airplay chart. The Inspirations’ song “If You Only Knew” is at the top spot. Evidently, it’s not just the fans that like the Inspirations; radio program directors must as well, with all the airplay their songs receive.

IN MY OPINION THE INSPIRATIONS ARE THE MOST RESPECTED GROUP IN THE SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC INDUSTRY.TO BE AT THE TOP OF YOUR PROFFESSION FOR OVER FOUR DECADES IS TRULY REMARKABLE.I ENCOURAGE ANY ONE OUT THERE TO GO SEE THESE MEN IF YOU HAVENT BEFORE.IF YOU KNOW THE PHRASE (my cup runneth over )YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS WHEN YOU ATTEND ONE OF THERE CONCERTS.YOUR HEART WILL TRULY BE BLESSED.
I RECENTLY ATTENDED A SINGING AT A CHURCH NEAR DAYTON OHIO.THE INSPIRATIONS WERE SINGING THERE THAT NIGHT AND IT BECAME KNOWN MIDWAY THROUGH THE EVENING THAT THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THEM BEING THER THAT NIGHT WAS A YOUNG MAN WHO I WOULD GUESS TO BE ABOUT TWELVE YEARS OLD.THE PASTOR OF THE CHURCH MADE THIS KNOWN.DURING THERE PERFORMANCE THE INSPIRATIONS HAD THIS YOUNG MAN COME UP ON STAGE TO SING A SONG AND IT BROUGHT THE COGREGATION TO THERE FEET AS THEY SANG THERE SONG WITH THIS YOUNG MAN AND YOU COULD SEE THE TEARS ROLL DOWN HIS FACE FROM PURE JOY.IT WAS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER AND I WISH YOU ALL COULD HAVE BEEN THERE.

THis song has blessed my heart for the past several weeks. I hear it every sunday morning on 104.7 in birmingham al. See my husband was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor on Feb. 19, 2007. My daughter was to get married in sept and in her last semester of nursing school. We rushed to get everything moved to June 1 as the doctors said he would make it till then. Well God had another plan, He took him on April 18, 2007. Although we made it through her graduation and wedding and my son stepped up and gave her away in honor of his dad’s wishes. This song has made me feel that John talks to me everytime I hear it. I know he is in a better place and when I start to church on sunday or just get to thinkning about him somehow this song come on the radio. It is a wonderful song and has a tremendous meaning to me.

I heard the song tonight for the first time on The Gospel Greats called
“If You Only Knew” sung by the Inspirations. I was wondering if you could tell me the songwriter’s name. I would like a copy of the words until I can get the CD. This song is just what the Great Physician ordered!

The song is written by Craig Edwards. Unfortunately, since the lyrics are copyrighted, I cannot legally post them here.

Where can I buy a cd or cassette of ‘If You Only Knew’? A very close friend of mine just lost his 16 year old son, not by sickness, but he was hit and killed by a driver that had been drinking heavily. The funeral will be this Saturday and I just heard this song and it is so beautiful. Joey was a good, Christian young man that loved the Lord and witnessed to others. He touched my heart so profoundly. Thank you.
