I heard these exact guys at Sogospelnews.com’s FanFest. They really presented themselves with positive energy and enthusiasm that seemed genuine. Garry is the consumate musician and as one result, he has constructed a group that does sing on pitch for the most part. That’s big in my book. Garry seems like a really great guy.
Everyone I know is pulling for him to have success. The polite and tepid audience at FF seemed to be pulling for them too and gave them a nice reception and even a half hearted standing O for “Midnight”

The best thing I can say about their stand is that they got to do it BEFORE Johnny Minick & Friends and The Prophets conducted singing lessons for all present.

Shane Dunlap singing lead for Mercy’s Mark?? How could they not be good? Shane is as good a young lead singer as we have today. I hope he stays with MM for a long time.

I don’t get to see Mercy’s Mark nearly as much as I’d like to and my new full-time job is making it even more difficult (on call every 3 weeks, including weekends). But I love the way Mercy’s Mark has evolved and believe that they are better than ever! I, too, am hoping that Shane will be able to make his “filling in” more permanent! I’d love to see a DVD that could capture some of the “magic” from their live performances.

Daniel, that was a good review, thanks for giving us your thoughts. I wish i could have joined you down there, but just didn’t have enough time after work to get down to Columbus. Maybe next time. We will meet up someplace on the concert circuit that’s for sure.

Interesting comments, Daniel. This is such a different group than the original – older (except for Christian!) and more mature in many ways (including Christian!) and I think they’re doing such a great job. I’m glad you got to see them. I think Shane would make an excellent permanent addition to the group – in every way! I just hope things work out for him to be able to stay.
