AVFL: Josh Feemster to leave Mercy’s Mark
According to Averyfineline, Josh Feemster is leaving Mercy’s Mark. This would be a big blow to the group, since he was the singer they relied on to come through when it counted and provide the big finish to their live programs (with “Something’s Happening” and “Midnight Cry.”)
But there is an upside: Apparently he is going to be reunited with Chris West in a quartet. Very interesting. Plus, a certain young tenor is rumored to be on the move to a “supergroup” composed of young members of different groups ready to get a bus and see if they can make it on their own. I don’t know if this is the group, but certainly interesting things could be on the Southern Gospel horizon.

This was actually sent out in a press release today from Garry Jones/Mercy’s Mark. The PR said that Feemster is leaving to pursue a business opportunity outside of SG.
Until an announcement is made or Feemster and West speak publically about a new group - it’s nothing more than a rumor at this point. I see no use in posting about it.

Thanks for the clarification, Chris. I was just posting based on what I’d seen, but clarifications are always welcome here (even in those cases where I don’t agree!)

If you see no use in posting about it, then there should be no use in commenting about it other than to spead the infamous Unthank censorship and opinion beyond the line of your own real estate. Thank you Daniel for your consistent attitude and professionalism!

Thank you for the compliment, Johnson!

I’m sorry. I wasn’t aware that there was some unwritten rule that I’m not allowed to post on sites that my parents don’t own.
I guess I just don’t understand the need to post something that is - and there’s not denying it here - a simple rumor. If the news comes out later that they are indeed forming a group - great. But what was the point of posting the information if they weren’t ready for it to be released yet?
I guess there are some things about this industry that I’ll never understand - this being one of them. I work heavily as a journalist in contemporary christian music, and this kind of stuff is never seen. That industry seems to be growing by leaps and bounds, and ours is struggling just to take its next breath. I wonder why that is?

Chris,
Your comments here are always welcome. I may not always agree, but I always appreciate hearing your perspective.

Any word on a replacement? I can see Josh Garner filling it in… That’d be a good match, don’t ya think?

Yep, I could see Garner doing it.
