From the “too good to remain in the comments” department (hat tip, QJ!), Gold City has posted two videos of the new lineup on their own YouTube channel:
Oh MAN! I can hardly wait until this great gospel group comes to Dallas/Fort Worth again. I was saddened when Jay left, then Tim, followed by Jonathon. I admit that it seemed that the best years were behind them.
But! This new lineup has made all of the difference in the world. Thanks for providing these links.
[...] Thanks to Daniel Riley for taking the time to provide some more information and clarification on what’s currently going on with the new Gold City. Be looking for these guys in concert sometime soon! As an aside, they have also added some videos to their youtube channel as well. You can find the videos linked on Daniel Mount’s blog here. [...]
Guest CD Review: Declaration (Booth Brothers): Another View (10) Amy Rogers: Well, that’s interesting, all right. I can’t imagine how, though! NewSoGoFan: Where did I learn so much about this album or so much about music? I am Lari Goss…in my dreams! Naomi: Wow!! That is a fantastic review(and I’ve only made my way through the first half!). I am completely blown away by your knowledge of music in general. I don’t think I’ve... NewSoGoFan: Thank you! (filler words to keep Wordpress happy) Greg: This is my favorite southern gospel record in a very long time. Great review!
Dolly Parton to appear at Singing News Fan Awards (3) SG Purist: I am dismayed to hear this, and frankly, more than a little disappointed in the Singing News. Southern Gospel has had this inferiority complex for years – that somehow, if we get... JEB: Most deserving… Always very supportive of SG – her first love. JEB Gladys: That is so nice that they are giving her an award & that she will attend. I think it’s great that Dollywood has always supported southern gospel music. Sure wish I could go to the...
Garner, Rulapaugh announce Freedom (8) Margie Roberts: Hi Josh, I’m so glad about your new group. Hope your group can come to Parkersburg, WV real soom. I have always enjoyed your beautiful voice of yours and wonderful...
New Blogger: Steve Eaton (5) New SoGo Fan: No. Instead we need another blogger who’s just as nice as all of those but brings his own unique flair to the table. Daniel J. Mount: …which is, of course, a great move, since we don’t need another DBM, another me, another Dinana, etc. Steve Eaton: Thanks Daniel, I am hoping to offer something a bit different than everyone else. Daniel J. Mount: He tends to prefer mixed groups, though there are a few all-male groups he’d also count as favorites. New SoGo Fan: What groups does he like? He mentioned future concert reviews.

Every Gold City tenor had somewhat of a distinct voice but they all sounded somewhat close. Josh Cobb is wAy different from any Gold City tenor.
Genius at work.
Really nice quartet!
I’m glad to see the videos posted from Mobile. We saw them the night before that in Jacksonville and they were wonderful!

Josh has great tones. Clear vocals without the “hash” found in many tenor voices today. Great singer.
Yes…. it’s a DISTINCTIVE tenor voice… like Brian Free and Jay Parrack both had. Tim Riley has done it again.
Is it just me, or is it time for another KingsGold recording??
Very different sounds, now that they’ve both gone the power tenor route – but yeah, it’s time and it would be awesome!
Can’t see that happening. Vocally would not match up like the older groups did.
