Perrys and Greater Vision not in Top 5?
A little bird tells me that neither the reigning trio of the year nor the reigning mixed group of the year will be in the top 5 for Group of the Year in the Singing News Fan Awards. If this is true, it is surprising, but stranger things have happened.
I think this will have one definite result: There will be increased fan demand for the group categories to return next year. But I could be surprised. As I said, stranger things have happened before.

It will be especially interesting if the Top 5 groups are all male quartets. I tend to like having just one category for all groups, though…gives the one award more bragging rights.
The part categories for individuals is nice, on the other hand…as it lets a few more individuals win. I don’t see that we need to have more groups of individuals winning based on configuration, though. I like final number of categories we ended up having this year.

I am very disappointed that GV didn’t make the top 5. Actually, it’s next to impossible for me to believe!
But, I DO like the number of categories. I was one of the people who thought we had way too many categories before (I know I’m in the minority, but it’s my opinion!).

I am surprised about GV not making it, but not so much about The Perrys.
