Have you ever gone through those times of “While they were yet speaking …”? You know, the times like Job had when you have just received some bad news or have gone through a difficult time, you’re just beginning to adjust and decide you can handle this when the next crisis arrives? Sometimes it seems like things couldn’t get worse but, voila, here comes another trial. I’m convinced in Job’s day, they didn’t need the media we have today. There were plenty of messengers ready to deliver bad news in person.
Sometimes I feel like my life has been full of people “yet speaking” but I also know that while people have been speaking, God’s voice has been louder and His grace has been there through each trial I’ve faced. As I approach this Thanksgiving, I think that is what I’m most thankful for: the tremendous grace and strength and presence of God. If everything I hold dear were taken away, God would still be there holding me, drawing me close, giving me joy and strength to face each day as it comes. His hand is not short nor his ear dull of hearing. He loves me, and what could be worth more than that? Thank You, Lord, for giving me so much to be thankful for!
My dear friend-all I can say is amen…I am so thankful that JESUS
is near…have a blessed thanksgiving to you and yours…Joe Sahadi
Thank You so much for this devotion. It is so comforting to know that God does not change. When we experience trying circumstances He is always there with His love and kindness because He is Holy and Perfect.
Is anyone else tuning into L5’s live concert? I misfigured the time by an hour, so I guess I tuned in about 20 minutes later & couldn’t figure out what was going on for a while.
