EMI Music’s CMG (Christian Music Group) distribution distributes the various Gaither titles (Vocal Band, Homecomings, etc.), and will frequently post information about upcoming projects on their site well before other sites list the information, to alert bookstore owners to the titles of upcoming releases.
Probably over two years ago now, Gaither brought 200-250 artists together for a large Homecoming taping in Nashville. There were two days of taping—a day of hymns and a day of new songs. The Hymns projects have been released as Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, and Rock of Ages. It looks as though footage from the new songs taping is finally set to be released; EMI CMG has posted information on two upcoming Homecoming releases, Nashville Homecoming and Joy in My Heart.
As on the Hymns DVDs, the Homecoming regulars get a large portion of the solos. Highlights from artists who either aren’t regulars or (in the case of the Collingsworth family) weren’t regulars at the time include:
Gaither needs to do a homecoming video up in Portland at the Rose Garden.
Wow, this sure was on the back burner for a long time!
…also, isn’t it amazing how much footage for several videos they can tape at each one of these gatherings? amazing!
I am with you there, David. They took a long time on this one. I was somewhat disappointed about that. But the anticipation has definitely been there. I’m looking forward to it!
Do you know of any websites where I can download soundtracks? Crossroads Music is a great site, but are there others? Thanks!
It’s good to see groups like L5 and The Perry’s to get back on a video… also it is great to see BFA on there as well, I am looking forward to August 25!!!
August 25th, I can’t hardly wait!
