Singing News launches beta site

Singing News hasn’t had a website redesign in years, but they are getting close to ready to launch a new site design. The new site design can be viewed at beta.singingnews.com.

The design has been under development for months (and perhaps even a year), and it looks like the design time was worth it.

One interesting thing—to be precise, the word “currently”—jumped out to me when I was browsing the Fan Awards page. It says: “Currenly,[sic] only active subscribers of the Singing News Magazine are allowed to vote.” Could that mean some other method might be under consideration?

I think the idea of letting nonsubscribing fans vote for Favorite Artist of the Year like the GMA does for the Dove Awards; but the rest of the awards should be up to the subscribers only.

I am a subscriber to SN, but it would be nice if others could vote. Some folks are on very limited incomes and can’t afford the subscription. I’d like to see those fans be allowed vote too.
