Time precludes a longer post this morning, but permit me to point out these articles on Greater Vision and on Salem Communications.

If time permits, I’ll post something more in-depth this evening or tomorrow morning.

I was surprised that Greater Vision, one of the more popular and successful Southern Gospel groups in recent years, was appearing at an event where the highest ticket price was only $12. The venue has 563 seats, but usual concerts there are only $8. It may be Texarkana, where the top ticket price for an upcoming Beauty and the Beast musical is only $15. Still, according to the chamber of commerce, there are 245 protestant churches in the area. I guess this is evidence of just how much Southern Gospel music is truly valued. Where I live, movie tickets are approaching $10.
