U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement: SG is suspicious

I recently purchased some LPs from a friend who had duplicates. He sent them through the U.S. Mail. Evidently the U.S. Customs and Border Protection / U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers thought Southern Gospel records must be suspicious, because they opened the box, apparently tearing the top off in the process. After they found only LPs (which, fortunately, they didn’t damage), they put the package in a massive and very official-looking box, taping the top of the old box on:

So did the Immigrations Officer think my friend had managed to fit an illegal alien into an LP-sized box?

Or maybe it’s just that he loved Southern Gospel and wanted to pirate copies for his mp3 player before the shipment continued on its way!

Sheesh! Now we know how stupid our new Liberal government can be when they think you can fit an illegal in a small box!

Would they have been looking for drugs? Maybe it was a contaminated box. :D

Are you saying that Daniel Mount, the greatest SG blogger in history, fraternizes with druggies?! He couldn’t. You can tell by his testimony!

That’s what happens when you get records from an unsavory character. LOL!!!!

Seriously… I wonder if this is done randomly.

Whether random or not, this was pretty crazy.

I’ve seen this kind of thing happen before. It’s usually incurred by either a West Virginia postmark or shipping Happy Goodman records across state lines.

  13. Happy Goodman videos! :P

Don’t think that triggered it in this case. There was a Rusty Goodman solo project in the lot, but that was it.

  14. Goodman is the keyword!
