Greater Vision CD receives honor

Posted in: Southern Gospel News — Daniel J. Mount @ 8:50 am

The staff of the Gospel Music Channel named Greater Vision’s CD Not Alone as being one of the year’s top 10 Christian releases. This enters the CD in a contest for the fan favorite. The contest is open for anyone to vote; let’s put a Southern Gospel album at the top of the list!

Voting enters you in a drawing to win all ten CDs. I honestly have no idea what I’d do with the rest of the CDs if I won, but I can easily think of a person or two I know who would like the Greater Vision CD.

Yes, I’m not really interested in the drawing. But I voted.

Why no mention of the other SG title in the mix – Crabb Revival’s Runaway Train?

Personally, I’m not even familiar with it. I’ve never even heard a song by the group. So I wouldn’t really be voting for it …

    #2 – I got GV’s press release, not theirs.

Plus, I cover SG music here. At this point I haven’t heard enough of Crabb Revival to know if they’re SG like the earlier Crabb family or if they’re focusing on the CCM market like the later Crabb years.

Hey that’s great! I randomly voted a day or two ago. I think I might have voted for the Crabb’s Cd, though. I’m not really interested in either. Actually, I was hoping Signature Sound’s “Dream On” would be on the list.

I saw the Crabb Revival in concert a while back with some other southern gospel artists, but they were more on the CCM side. They’re still good, though. I personally had to vote for a different album because I like some CCM music, and my favorite happened to be on there, but I’m glad some southern gospel got on the list! I always get excited watching “Southern Lunch” from 1-2pm on GMC and seeing some southern gospel artists.

    WOW. Ok.

Chris, just understand that I’m certainly not saying that I know they’re focusing on CCM. I’m just saying that I don’t know.

Look at it this way Daniel:

The CD has been out for a while (over 6 months) and they haven’t serviced a single song to INSP or Christian AC. However, they have released 2 songs to Southern Gospel so far.

That should give you your answer.

I voted, yesterday, when I finally checked my email and found Gerald’s letter. *I wonder who I voted for? ??? * LOL!
