I think we, as Southern Gospel Fans, should be glad the grammy's still consider Southern Gospel. I am surprised by the nom, but I am sure that Alan Jackson or the Del McCoury Band will win. His "The Prodigal's Dad" has done well on the charts and he really has a great message that he presents at his concerts. But I'm very surprised at this kind of nomination so quickly after his come-back. Seems to me that there are others that would have been chosen before Kenny. I’ve got the album and I think it’s good. Who even knows where they got their hands on Bishop's project for consideration? If Daywind was pushing a particular title, you'd think it would have been one of their more popular artists. It looks like Kenny Bishop has displaced the persistently nominated Art Greenhaw and the Light Crust Doughboys in the SG/Bluegrass/Country category this year, though, and that's a VERY GOOD THING! The Grammy nominations are notoriously out of touch with reality when it comes to the SG/Bluegrass/Country Gospel category.
