Interesting article, thank you. I attended the Gospel Festival Show and bought the LP’s of Rambos, Stamps and Oaks. The Oaks “Performance” is one of my all time favorites. Has it ever been re-issued?

This article is very well written.Although I have known Rusty for just about 2 years his talent for writing songs is nothing short of phenominal! I know God has his hand on Rusty as he writes and God is putting the words and music in Rustys’s soul to write. God chose a very special blessing for Rusty and is really using his talents for the Lord’s work to be put out to the world to be heard.One can’t hear one of Rusty’s songs and not want to follow God! He is God’s songwriter and I’m very proud to know him and all he accomplishes!God Bless ya Rusty!

I ran across this article while Googling for Mark Ellerbee, former Oaks drummer. As a Southern Gospel songwriter, we sometimes look past a blessing when it’s right before our eyes. I almost passed this interview when I saw my friend Jerry Salley’s name. I decided to read and,man, did I get glory bumps. God bless you, Rusty. You’re not only a great writer, but you can be sure many souls have already been added to the Kingdom because of your songs.

I checked on the Three Nails thing and it looks like it was 1971. I don’t know if it ran in 1970 also or not, but it would be 1970-1971.
