Songs from Obadiah

This is the thirty-first entry in a series on Songs from the Books of the Bible.

Southern Gospel songs focus on many of the highest themes known to mankind—songs of Salvation, the Cross, the Resurrection, and eternity. But critics claim that they focus on these themes to the exclusion of other Biblical themes which are appropriate and perhaps necessary to address in song.

  1. I know this is a real stretch, but Triumphant has a song they sing HE IS. (plus other groups) I know it is not one verse but the naming of the books of the Bible and in the song it explains the purpose of the book. I understand this song may not count but it does cover the whole Bible.

    • Creative thinking! (And that may have been the only thing that got us anything on Obadiah!) Great work – thanks! :)

  2. Of course the song He Is can be used for other books of the Bible when you have no songs. I know the list will be short, but at least you will have a song for each book.. Glad you liked it.

    • Yes. I think I don’t have much for II and III John, and probably one or two of the other minor prophets. :)
