I heard Joe at the Brumley sing this year. The Diplomats have a great group, and I was very entertained the whole time they were on stage. I was surprised at how versatile they were. The baritone/bassplayer (Corey?) has more talent in his little finger than most I’ve seen lately. Great singer and musician. Joe absolutely destroyed “Lonesome Road.” I think its a low F he hit twice. It’s good to see him give Pat Barker props too. Heard his at Brumley also, and is exactly what Joe said, a great SINGER. He has the lows, but can sing a solo that gives ya chill bumps. These 2 guys have a huge future ahead of them.

MY HERO!!! Those are the two words to describe how I feel about Joseph. He is THE best bass singer in Southern Gospel Music today and deserves alot more recognition. I know for a fact that when people hear him sing, they take notice. I’ve sang with Joseph since he was 17 years old and if my Daddy were still living he would say, “I taught him everything he knows!” Words can never express how proud I am of the person and singer that he has become over the past few years. Joseph, keep up the great work, and I’m praying that you’ll soon get your heart right and come back to Enlisted! (LOL!) You could’ve mentioned my real name instead of “a girl” in this interview!!

I met Joe when he was with Enlisted.
One of the best bass singers on the road, and as Terry said, one fine human being. Love ya, Joe!

I’m proud to say I’ve known Joe for over 30 years and there’s not a finer person on the face of the earth, there’s also not a better bass singer as well. Great interview!

Joe is a great person to get to know, as are all the Diplomats. And Joe can sing some pretty killer bass too. While he does “Lonesome Road” well, his best feature probably is “Child of the King”. Hats off to Joe Brown!
